Sunday I was able to go to a Korean Methodist Church -- There is a student from SCS that her family goes there, so she translated for us. They do have translating there, but it's in Spanish! The people there were so incredibly kind-- and there were several there that spoke English.

After the service, they always have a meal-- I can't remember the name of the dish, but it was really good!!

This week had it's ups and downs-- in some ways it's hard to believe it's the middle of September, and we're getting ready to start our 6th week of school!! Monday I started tutoring a student after school, -- which will be Mondays and Wednesday for an hour-- and then we had our Women's Bible Study on Jonah. I have not had my AC in my room this week, and Wednesday was an incredibly hot day-- by the end of the day I was so exhausted from being in the heat all day (though I did ask other people if my room was actually hot, or it was just me, and they said it was hot-- so I feel better that it's not just me! LOL).
As a Special Education teacher, I rely a lot on my schedule (and routine), and it has really thrown me off that I haven't had a consistent schedule. For various reasons, I've had to change it multiple times-- and it's made it harder to remember what I'm supposed to be doing (or where I'm supposed to be/which kids I'm supposed to have!)! I'm hoping that after this week, that my schedule will finally be set with no changes.
After my Spanish class Thursday Darlene took me to Claro to get my phone fixed-- evidently my phone got deactivated so I couldn't call outside of the U.S. For some reason I started feeling extremely nauseous and dizzy shortly before that, and I went to bed almost as soon as I got home. Friday morning I thought I felt better, but after being at school for about an hour, I was still very dizzy and tired, so Stacey, my principal drove me home. After a day of sleeping/resting, I feel much better today-- still a bit tired, but so much better than before!
Next week we only have a 3-day week-- Thursday we have a half-day inservice and then no-school the afternoon and Friday!! We're taking our first road trip out of Santiago, and I'm so excited!! We're going to Jarabocoa about an hour away from the city -- and a group of us are staying in a villa for 3 nights. I'm not sure of all the details of what we're going to be doing, but I've been assured that there are a lot of things to do!
